Following on from the previous two Vonage shareholder lawsuits, now Verizon is suing Vonage over alleged patent infringements. Not surprisingly the result is an even steeper fall in Vonage’s share price than had already happened. One rumor is that Verizon is just kicking Vonage while it is down, but it could also be that Verizon is positioning itself for a more widespread patent infringement onslaught. Alternatively it is just a stupid move by Verizon which is currently very active rolling out its FiOS (next-gen infrastructure and IPTV) service.
