Vonage replying to Emergency calls now

Acting on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mandate, Vonage is replying the Emergency Calls or E911 in Contra Costa County, California. With this, the subscribers of this county are equipped with E911 facility.
FCC has made it mandatory for the VoIP companies to ensure E911 facility to their subscribers in June this year. The regulatory body has set 120 days for the service providers to compile the ruling.
Vonage, which recorded a heavy loss in the Q2, is working with local Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) to turn on E911 for the US customers at its fast. At present, it is trialing new PSAPs that are VoIP-ready every day. In the last three months, it could able to equip over 400 more locally run calling centers with E911.
