Microsoft made its live.com customers happy. The software giant has joined hands with Verizon Business, a division of Verizon Communications to further enhance its free Windows Live Call, which is part of Windows Live services.
Form now, the customers who are visiting Microsoft’s maps.live.com site for searching restaurants, hotels, car dealerships or any such businesses can make free PC-to-phone calls to the advertisers using Verizon Business’s VoIP network.
The Windows Live Call provides three types of calling services to the customers. They include Computer Call (Free PC-to-PC voice calls), Video Call (Free PC-to-PC video calls) and Phone Call (PC-to-Phone voice calls to landline and wireless numbers).
Speaking its collaboration with Verizon Business, Microsoft elaborates,
Together, Microsoft and Verizon Business have built standards-based Web solutions, bringing new applications to life. Because it is a Web-based solution, Windows Live Call for Free allows for the easy integration of voice with other multimedia Web services such as Live Search. These voice-based services are filling a real need today while paving the way for future enhanced service offerings.
The Phone Call service exploits Windows Live Messenger, Verizon’s Global Telephone Network and VoIP technology to provide users free or very low cost domestic and international phone calls from a PC.
