UberOverLord does it again. A VoIP phone bridge for any phone in the world to Skype. Call Skype contacts via your phone without even installing one piece of software on the (cell)phone.
Check it out. It’s about calling any phonenumber calling your skype contact list from their phone (pstn or cellphone). I have seen this kind of solution before, but this one has yet again some interesting features.
This plugin will allow you to:
1. Call phone numbers from your cell phone on Skype
2. Call Skype names from your cell phone.
3. Allows others to do the same from your account IF you decided to authorize them as well,.
4. Call Skype Name Cell, Home, and Office numbers from your cell phone, or any phone for that matter.
If those Skype names have thier Cell, Home and Office phone numbers in their profile, you can do #4
You need to have Skype IN / Skype and a Skype Pro account. You need to run the Skype extra’s plugin manager.
A speed-dial number will be callable via and link a certain skype contact.
Applications / advantages :
- give access to somebody that use your skype credit if you allow them to do it.
- call your local skype IN to make a long distance call. Local calls are authorized by companies but mostly not long distance. So you still can do it on your account. Nothing wrong with that.
- no need to go the computer or have skype gadgets to make skype call
- any speed dial number can be called in your skype list (nice. your computer has to be up and running with the Skype ID).
- you first call your skype IN number, then you start dialling the speed-dial numbers all via your phone.
- nothing needs to be installed on the physical phone and nothing needs to be installed on the physical phone. that is good. this gives me some security.
- it’s about implenting any phone to the skype network. no agreements extra to sign, no extra datarates.
- You can dial via your speed-dial numbers from another Skype ID or phone number any Skype ID or phone number.
- No code or application to be installed on somebody’s else their hardware. No software licensing needed. No support needed. Just add a speed-dial.
- No extra burden cost of data-traffic to pay per call when you use VoIP datacalling.
- No blocking of the telecom/carrier since you are making a simple call to your home-phone number or your Skype IN.
- No need for data-subscription with your phone.
I wonder when somebody will commercialize this ? I see some issues on the regulation, on the matter of Skype being allowed to do this or not. I mean why do we see so little Skype Top Up cards ? I would buy one immediately if I saw one. Everything else I see on the internet I want for free… maybe I’ll pay later, after trial.
Important :
Once the call transfer takes place then the Skype IN number is free and the Skype client releases the call that came in. This takes about second. THe call is answered by the SKype IN number and the line is released via call-forwarding.
Rememberthe cellphone caller ID must have their cellphone number listed on the skype ID list.
Who else has this type of solution by the way ?
I think companies ike : www.soonr.com – www.iskoot.com – www.vox.com and some others I think. But they you still get charged an extra datarate per mb.. but the above Mytogo one does not.
