Zhone joins with Telecom Egypt to provide its MALC

Here is a path breaking VoIP deal between the Zhone Technologies and Egypt Telecom under which the US based company would provide its MALC Broadband Loop Carrier Technology to Egypt.

Now, Telecom Egypt will be deploying the MALC Broadband Loop Carrier Technology that would ensure Voice, Video and Data services to various parts of the country.
The VoIP project which would be implemented in Egypt also combines Zhone MALC with Nortel CS2K Softswitch and ATM network technology to facilitate circuit switched Voice to offer the pure packet network transparently to end users in terms of service availability, call quality and billing.
As known earlier, Telecom Egypt is one of the largest fixed line service providers in the Middle East and Africa with subscribers base crossing 10.6 million mark. With the induction of MALCs in its network, Egypt would able to provide enriched VoIP service in the Middle East region.
