How Does ShoreTel 8.0 Work?

How secure are the features on that VoIP system you are checking out? That’s an excellent question and one that begs answers. Having information like that can really be the difference between selecting the right VoIP system for your business and settling on the wrong web.

So, when I saw that ChannelWeb recently tested ShoreTel 8.0 on ShoreGear-90 and four IP-phones, I knew ya’ll needed to check it out too.

ShoreTel Takes Over for Cisco

Bye-bye, Cisco! It’s been a good run. But it’s time to go . . .

The Cisco VoIP system installed in Oakland, California, in 2003 has been removed. In its place is a new ShoreTel system. The unified communications system isn’t used by the Emergency 911 system there though.

ShoreTel Wins Top Award

It’s a five-pete! Or is it five-peat! Whatever the case, ShoreTell has been named Best Overall VoIP Provider in the Nemertes PilotHouse Awards for Unified Communications & Collaboration for the fifth time. The awards ranked 24 VoIP providers.

ShoreTel Wins Award

Shoretel’s ShoreWare v4.66 was awarded a 2008 IP Contact Center Technology Pioneer Award by Technology Marketing Corporation’s Customer Interaction Solutions magazine.

“Customer Interaction Solutions has been covering the call center since 1982 and recognizes the importance of acknowledging achievers in the advancement of call center technology. Enterasys and ShoreTel Team Up

Enterasys Networks Inc. has teamed up with ShoreTel Inc. Enterasys recently completed ShoreTel’s Technology Partner Program, a VoIP vender certification program. It is the first networking company to do so.

Enterasys brings a special security solution to the partnership for VoIP customers.

“Enterasys has developed a comprehensive approach to discover, classify, prioritize and secure the industry-leading unified communications solutions from ShoreTel,” said Mike Fabiaschi, Enterasys President & CEO.

The Enterasys Secure Open Convergence helps enterprises to detect unauthorized use and prevent service interruptions and eavesdropping.

“With Enterasys, our customers will now have a tightly integrated security solution,” said Mark Arman, ShoreTel VP of Business Development. “Networking and security are clearly converging to proactively protect unified voice, video and data communications.”

ShoreTel Picked As Deloitte Technology Fast 500

ShoreTel, Inc., a Pure IP Unified Communications solutions provider, announced recently that their company has been named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a list of technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America.  The rankings are based on a firm’s fiscal year revenue growth for the period from 2002 through 2006. Perhaps equally as exciting as that specific honor is the fact that ShoreTel revenues have grown a whopping 759% in that five year period.

“ShoreTel is delivering on the promise of unified communications for the enterprise,” said Steve Timmerman, vice president of marketing at ShoreTel, in a recent press release. “Our phenomenal growth is the direct result of great products, top-notch channel partners, and an absolute dedication to customer satisfaction.”

ShoreTel was ranked 216 out of the 500 on the list.  Kudos to them.

ShoreTel Pulls Registration Statement from SEC

ShoreTel, Inc., an IP telecommunications systems provider, announced recently that they have filed an application with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to remove their Registration Statement on Form S-1, Registration No. 333-147486.  The form was only filed a few weeks ago. 

Per a recent statement from ShoreTel, they offered this, “The Company requested to withdraw its Registration Statement due to the unwillingness of the selling stockholder to sell shares under the current capital market conditions.”

Secondary Public Offering Announced by ShoreTel

ShoreTel, Inc., an IP telecommunications systems provider, announced that 4.4 million shares of ShoreTel common stock are coming available by some stockholders in an underwritten public offering.

Per their recent announcement, ShoreTel “will not be selling any shares in the offering and will not receive any proceeds from the sale of shares by the selling stockholders.”  Lehman Brothers Inc. and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. will be the joint bookrunning managers of the upcoming offering.

In a continuing concerted effort to offer business customers streamlined communications, ShoreTel, Inc. has recently announced the availability of the their award-winning unified communications system.  Featuring more support for international locations, an easy-to-manage design, and switches that bump the capacity to double, while taking up half the space, this might be the newest cost-effective must-have.

The new ShorePhones are priced retail as follows: ShorePhone IP 265: $369, and ShorePhone 115: $159. The ShoreWare Mobile Call Manager is priced at $95 per user.

Hitachi Consulting’s VoIP Success, Seven Years of It.

Hitachi Consulting’s VoIP Success has come on a silver platter to the the director of IT for Hitachi Consulting. The firm was initially 500 employees located in 14 offices inUSA which were connected by a WAN, when they deployed ShoreTel’s VoIP technology in 2000.
Going through multitude of problems due to WAN problems, followed by VPN troubles with Cisco, and a solution to the same with NetScreen and some upgrades, the electronics giants service arm is a happy camper in VoIP world.
The director of IT for Hitachi Consulting, Mike Shisko is quoted to have said “I cannot imagine going back to an old TDM world,” who talked about his VoIP experiences at the recent Network World IT Roadmap Conference & Expo in Dallas. “VoIP makes things so much easier to manage and to use, and is so much more functional for the end users.”
After seven year of working with VoIP and expanding the work force to 1500, spread across 18 U.S. and four European offices not only have seamless voice, but also state-of-the-art presence, mobility, conferencing and collaboration capabilities.
Now to the best of the results that affect the bottom line, its long-distance calling bill — for the entire global operation — is less than $2,000 a month.

Telindus to Jump on ShoreTel Train

ShoreTel, Inc. recently announced that Telindus, a 2,700-employee European specialist in ICT solutions and services, will be selling ShoreTel products in an effort to provide Telindus’ customers with a managed services that has rich capabilities, while still keeping costs down.
