Taridium Releases ipbx iPhone Interface

Source: www.voip-news.com

Taridium has released an ipbx iPhone interface for its enterprise PBX solution. The iPhone interface compatible with Apple’s iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S.

“One of the big advantages of the Taridium ipbx iPhone interface is that users can now access internal PBX extensions directly from their mobile phone with a single click — it basically allows you to take your office extension with you,” says Dominique Kull, Taridium’s CTO.

According to Taridium:

With the ipbx mobile interface your employees always stay ahead of the game. Visual voicemail allows them to listen to their office voicemail directly from their iPhone, check their recent calls, call users back as if they were at their desk and even host telephone conferences. This does not only save money, but also allows access to the Taridium unified voicemail system, where a single mailbox serves VoIP phones, mobile phones and any other phone that supports conditional call diversion.

If required for compliance reasons, all calls passed through the mobile phone can be recorded and immediately reviewed on the phone. Users are presented with a familiar interface that seamlessly integrates their iPhones into the office telephone system.

Hosted IP PBX Gets More Functional with VocalocityPBX Dashboard

Source: www.voip-news.com

Point. Click. Go. That’s one of those easy, fun things about web-based VoIP solutions. But hosted IP PBX solutions traditionally lacked that capability … until now.

A user dashboard for hosted IP PBX applications? Oh yes. Vocalocity has just released on, bringing click-to-call functionality and on-screen ease to the hosted IP PBX environment, which has traditionally lacked those two things.

According to a recent VoIP-News feature:

The application, called the VocalocityPBX Dashboard, works through a Web browser rather than through separate PC software. It’s available free to all users of the hosted service, allowing them to view onscreen information about the calls, conferences and queues operating in their companies at the moment. It also lets them see the status and availability of co-workers, and set their own status for co-workers to see. Permissions set by management determine exactly who can see what. CEOs, for example, typically can view more information about calls, such as whom each person is talking to, than can other employees.

Universal Numbers for PBXpress VoIP Private Branch eXchange Customers

Source: www.voip-news.com

PBXpress VoIP Private Branch eXchange customers now have universal phone number capabilities thanks to a partnership between PortaOne and FVN Alliance.

“In today’s world where instant communication is essential, universal phone numbers are a major business advantage. By partnering with FVN Alliance, PortaOne is able to add this powerful capability to one of the best VoIP-based PBX platforms available,” said Roman Khalenkov, sales and marketing director for PortaOne.

According to the companies:

FVN Alliance’s FVN technology allows users to have a single, universal personal phone number good for inbound calls from all networks, real or virtual. By associating a phone number with an individual rather than a geographic location, it becomes easier for customers, clients and even co-workers to find employees. Call effectiveness is improved and communication networks–often the biggest barrier to workplace productivity–is optimized.

The FVN network from FVN Alliance supports cell phones, VoIP and land line networks. Users can route calls from the universal FVN environment to their current real number automatically or manually. Free virtual numbers are an ideal complement to PBXpress, a next-generation IP-based corporate branch exchange that allows enterprises to conduct all their call traffic using VoIP. In addition to dramatically reducing local, long distance and international calling costs, PBXpress offers call recording–a differentiating feature in the VoIP PBX segment.

“Connecting the FVN concept to a Web-based branch exchange creates a structured solution that will benefit virtually any enterprise on the move,” said Valery Donchenko, president of FVN Alliance, Inc. “From law firms and consulting practices to sales organizations and software companies, the FVN network and PBXpress can change customer perceptions and generate a compelling service advantage.”

Virtual PBX: Offering Best of Both Worlds?

Source: www.voip-news.com

The company Virtual PBX offers SMBs the cost-effective traits of traditional hosted PBX services and VoIP technology. Customers can choose a VoIP Network, softphone, handset and more to meet their specific needs.

“Virtual PBX is making a market-leading move here,” said Rob Enderle, president and principal analyst of the Enderle Group. “Hosted PBX services are becoming ever more valuable because companies can get started with very low cash outlay. Adding VoIP interoperability can further reduce costs, improve service and provide the ‘make or break’ difference many small businesses need in today’s hard economic times.”

According to Virtual PBX:

A hosted PBX service provides customers with advanced phone answering and call routing features without the expense of purchasing PBX hardware or the added costs of installation, ongoing maintenance and support. Virtual PBX was the first company to bring this service to market. Hosted PBX services have become very popular among small businesses due to the inviting combination of low upfront costs and high-end business features.

“Conventional hosted PBX services send all calls over the standard phone network, whether to land lines, cell phones or even VoIP phones,” said Paul Hammond, CEO of Virtual PBX. “Meanwhile, hosted IP-PBX suppliers usually require use of their own proprietary network, phones, adapters and softphone clients to send calls to VoIP phones. Virtual PBX’s ability to marry a traditional hosted PBX with the delivery of calls over both PSTN and VoIP services brings an important new level of interoperability and cost savings to the telecommunications industry.”

PIKA WARP Now Compatible with FreePBX

Source: www.voip-news.com

PIKA WARP the Appliance is now compatible with the Asterisk-based FreePBX Graphical User Interface. The WARP product began shipping in June.

“We are very pleased to have supported the effort to adopt the FreePBX application to run in the PIKA Warp environment,” said Terry Atwood, vice president of sales, marketing and customer care at PIKA Technologies. “Used in many Asterisk implementations around the world, including Trixbox, FreePBX has proven its value, time and again. When the FreePBX team expressed their willingness to work with us to port to the Warp Appliance, we jumped on the opportunity.”

According to the company:

WARP’s flexibility has now been extended to include FreePBX, one of the top Asterisk GUIs in use today. The FreePBX application provides pre-programmed functionality for users wanting to ease the work required to configure the Asterisk open-source platform.

“FreePBX has become the de facto standard for enterprise grade PBX functionality delivered to the SMB business and includes a very rich set of functionality and customization potential,” said Philippe Lindheimer, open source community director of Bandwidth.com and leader of the FreePBX project. “But no GUI is complete without a wide range of hardware options to complete the package. We are delighted that PIKA can now include FreePBX in the PIKA WARP and bring our two eco-systems together.”
