eBay unplugs Jajah click-to-call buttons

Source: voipcentral.org

jajah click to call buttons

Fazed by eBays move to ban Jajah click to call buttons, the VoIP startup has appealed the auctioneer to reconsider the decision and ensure click to call service to the customers at eBays site.

Jajah has very recently launched its click-to-call enabled buttons which can be put in web sites for free VoIP calls. The buttons can be used for eBay listings where sellers and buyers can talk to each other regarding the products.

Jajahs click to call application is very simple. It does not require any download, headset and broadband connection. It works on very phone. It protects privacy of online buyers and sellers.

However, the auctioneer has banned Jajah buttons terming display of outside buttons violates company policy and made it clear that all interactions between the buyers and sellers occur within its marketplace platform.

We should not forget the fact that Jajah rival Skype is providing click-to-call service to eBay customers. And Skype is core communication channel of eBay. Therefore, the decision to ban Jajah buttons is not surprising.

Jajah moves beyond VoIP calls

Zeus Kerravala, an analyst at Yankee Group has rightly pointed that voice for the sake of voice is becoming a commodity. But voice as an embedded part of the business process, like Skype does for eBay, is much more attractive.

The recent market trend shows that a company will struggle for survival, if it solely depends upon pure VoIP (Read SunRocket). They must provide bundled VoIP in order to remain in the business.

Jajah understands it very well and therefore covering new areas beyond phone calls. One such major area is click-to-call VoIP service, which the internet dating giant eHarmony has adopted from Jajah. Isnt it a better deal for Jajah?

Using Jajahs click-to-call service, the eHarmony members can talk to each other over phone without revealing their identity. Its Secure Call. The customers do not need to give their personal phone number. They just need to pay near about $6 per month for the service.

Pulver.com has now Click-to-Call feature

Jeff has integrated click-to-call features of Sitofono at the pulver.com home page. Unfortunately, I cannot enjoy the service since it does not take Indian telephone numbers.

First, you need to select your country in the menu, and then enter the fixed telephone number. After that, they must click on the Call for Free button. This service is free.

Developed and powered by Abbeynet, Sitofono is a push button, which can be put in the web pages to receive real time calls from the people on the internet directly on your fixed phone, switchboard, toll free number or automatic responder.

Jajah launches click-to-call like services!

Source: voipcentral.org

jajah-global-yellow-pages_28Has Jajah started offering Click-to-Call services for its customers? I come to know that the Austria-based VoIP introduced a new search service known as Global Yellow Pages this week.

The Jajah Global Yellow Pages service is just like an online search service with click-to-call features. For instance, you want to find out a business or contact, simple visit Jajahs yellow pages and get the number. Click that number and make call to the desired person.

This service is also free and very simple to use than traditional yellow pages.

The Skype-killer which has already covered major destinations including Chile, Panama, Colombia and Puerto Rico and major world cities including Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Rio De Janeiro and Belo Horizonte for its free global calling list will certainly look forward to spread the yellow page services in these countries.

Skype 3.0 Beta even take you shopping via click to call

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

directed by a Betanews release

whatever Skype is doing, it’s working: the company expects to generate $195 million in revenue for 2006, more than twice the $60 million it made the previous year. Going forward, Skype aims to build revenue based on e-commerce applications.

VoIP provider Skype released a new beta to its users on Wednesday, adding click-to-call functionality aimed at increasing its use in e-commerce applications. The company also plans to add additional features aimed at generating revenue from the free service.
Skype 3.0 would bring to fruition the online business functionality that eBay alluded to when it purchased the company last year. Many questioned the move, saying the price the auction site paid was well above its worth.

Another new feature would allow a user to be able to manage up to 100 Web-based chats with users, regardless of whether or not they have the VoIP software installed. The feature could be embedded into any Web page using just a few lines of code.

GigaOM’s Katie Fehrenbacher gave the new beta version of Skype high marks. "Probably the most interesting feature is the plug-ins for Firefox and IE that turns phone numbers on web sites into Skype buttons where users can click-to-call," she said.

"This will be really helpful for stimulating click-to-call ecommerce, and must have been on the level of what eBay had in mind when they purchased the company," Fehrenbacher continued.

Google talking to skype now! Googletalk that is!!

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

Google has a new dig, Googletalk and eBay that is. They have signed an agreement around text-based advertising and "click-to-call" advertising. Googletalk and skype will provide the voice and eBay will produce the goods!, literally.

According to the press release, agreement includes the following;
Search and Advertising on eBay Sites Outside the U.S.
Google will become the exclusive provider of text-based advertising on eBay outside the United States. This agreement provides Google advertisers access to one of the internet’s most robust online communities while enhancing the shopping experience for eBay buyers by making it easier for them to find the products they seek.

"Click-to-Call" Advertising and Technology Integration
Google and eBay also plan to integrate and launch "click-to-call" advertising functionality within eBay’s U.S. and international marketplaces and Google’s search platform. The click-to-call capability will allow a user to click on a link or icon within a product or service advertisement to initiate an Internet voice call to participating eBay merchants or Google advertisers directly from either company’s respective sites, using Skype or Google Talk.
You can find the full text press release here.
What made me laugh is a portion of the press release;
"Click-to-call advertising is an emerging e-commerce model that brings buyers and sellers together by opening up new ways for advertisers and merchants to generate customer leads using the Internet." We were developing this in 2002. One way or the other, this is good news for All of us, Good communication between all of us.

Click to call on Craigslist! But not from Skype

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

TGLO, the VoIP division of theglobe.com, announced today the availability of its tglophone for users of Craigslist. Users of social classifieds such as Craigslist will now have a powerful communication tool allowing them to talk one on one with a potential buyer or seller.
If you are a Craigslist user, visit TGLO and get the tglophone. Once installed, when the user logins to Craigslist, their accounts will be enabled and a Phone icon will appear next to listing for click to call function.
But as we all know, Craigslist is partially owned by eBay and eBay owns Skype, the king of consumer Voip (IP Telephony). Then why is the TGLO? I would have expected Skype to do the job when I saw the headline on the businesswire. May be Skype is only good at choking networks!
