Blogger Converted to VoIP

Source: www.voip-news.com

US News & World Report blogger David LaGesse has gone and done it. He’s switched to the cable company’s phone service.

He said that it’s too soon to say how it’s really working, but so far so good for the tech blogger. Funny, isn’t it? A tech blogger who is slow to embrace the change (full disclosure, I am in the same boat and hold off conversion until the E911 issue is really put to rest. Living in the middle of nowhere, that isn’t a gamble I can take. Plus there is still the need power to operate issue — we lose power semi frequently).

What would you say to convince someone to switch?

Interested in U-verse Voice? Members of the media, industry analysts, bloggers can call me for early previews

Source: alanweinkrantz.typepad.com

I am still doing some testing of U-verse Voice in my home.

Overall, it’s going well and I really do like it, but I need more time to play around with it.

If you are a journalist or industry analyst seeking a real world view on U-verse voice, email me: alan at weinkrantz dot com or you  log on to http://letscall.me/u-verse-voice-review and it will ring my AT&T / Apple iPhone.

note: to use this service, just type in your phone number when you hit the landing page noted above.  The service calls you and then it calls me on my phone.

Welcome To A New Telecom Blogger

Source: andyabramson.blogs.com

I was approached at eComm by a new telecom blogger yesterday and wanted to welcome him to the open world of blogging. He’s never hit my radar before, but new players are always a good thing. If anything we need more bloggers to replace some who have seen to move in new directions in life.

Welcome to the show, BellHead.

GrandCentral Webcall: receive calls and post voicemail with your blog

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

GrandCentral which I got invited even before Google acquired it is getting bigger. I mean really big. A post on Blogger Buzz letting us know that Blogger users know that they could sign up for GrandCentral accounts immediately. But the buzz is that it works as long as you have a google account. If you do not an account you can easily get one at Google.
I have been using GrandCentral for one number for all phones. Due to the nature of my work an hobby, I have too many cell phones and two office locations and home. I give people my GrandCentral number and internally I manage where I would receive the call. But there are othe uses as the blogger buzz explains.
If you get a webcall button, your blog readers readers could call you and leave voice mail messages for you without ever knowing your number.

Well if you blog, please read the article, it gives you ample advise and I think it a Gem.
This came to after light (was published on June 8, 2005, and updated on July) Forbes decided to attack on bloggers. The article Free Speech vs. Bad Advice - "Attack on the Blogs" and Fighting Back also can be read at EFF.
Once you have gone through all these, you can read Attack of the Printing Press!, a parody.
Please spread the word. These attacks and ideas develop into more cumbersome laws some times. Then you will have to publish your blog in China!

You can join EFF, Electronic Frontier Foundation, here
