SkypeIn service now available for Korean customers

Source: voipcentral.org

skypein-in-korea_28 This is the biggest news for the Korean customers. They are going to enjoy SkypeIn services that enable people to receive incoming calls from traditional phones or mobile handsets on their PCs.

Finally, Skype has announced the launch of its popular SkypeIn start-ups in South Korea in collaboration with countrys number one auctioneer, fittingly called Auction. Coincidentally, Skype owner eBay also owns more than 99 percent stake of Auction.

The customers who are interested to access SkypeIn service need to register at Skype’s Korean version Web site (skype.auction.co.kr) free of charge.

After that, they are required to choose an 11-digit Internet phone number with a dialing prefix of 070 at the Internet site after making a payment of 13,200 won for three-month services or 39,600 won for a yearly membership.

Beh Dong-chol, Director of Auction says,

Skype-In is beneficial for both callers and receivers — callers will be charged with inexpensive local telephony rates regardless of the receiver’s location.

As known earlier, Skype faced major restrictions in South Korea following its failure to meet the South Korean Ministry of Information and Communications regulatory requirements.
