Some of the first Windows Mobile 6.0 phones to hit the market will include Opera Software ASA’s mobile browser, in addition to Microsoft’s browser.

Motorola’s Q as well as phones from High Tech Computer , Asus and Toshiba will include Opera Mobile, Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder and CEO of Opera, said at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.

Microsoft launched Windows Mobile 6.0, the latest version of its mobile phone operating system, this week. Internet Explorer Mobile, Microsoft’s browser, comes with the software. A number of handset makers announced this week plans to release phones running the Microsoft operating system. according to Reseller News.

In addition to Opera Mobile, the company also offers Opera Mini, a free browser that works on most Java-enabled phones. It communicates with a server hosted by Opera or a mobile operator that strips down web sites for quicker, less data intensive mobile browsing.
Jajah, a web based VoIP service provider, inked an agreement with Opera in 2006 April. So my guess is you may be trying Mobile Voip on your slick new cell phones soon.

Skype and ASUS gives Skype On a Motherboard,

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

Several sources, including VOIP News is reporting about new motherboards to be released by Asus M2N/TeleSky and P5B/TeleSky motherboards come with the Asus TeleSky telecom adapter, along with 60 SkypeOut minutes.

The M2N/TeleSky works with socket 2 microprocessors from Advanced Micro Devices Inc., and run DDR2 (double data rate, second generation) memory chips. The P5B/TeleSky boards run on platform LGA775 microprocessors from Intel Corp., including Intel Quad-core, Core 2 Duo, Pentium Extreme, D, and Celeron.
The VOIP applications require Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, MCE, or XP64, according to Asustek. May be some one will get them running on Linux skype too!

The Telesky Telecom Adapter lets you connect a regular phone and a PSTN line to the computer holding any of the above motherboards. The connectors on the adopter let you connect PSTN (public switched telephone network) and Skype VOIP calls, with jacks that connect the house phone to the PC and the PC to the phone line. The boards support all Skype functions, including SkypeIn, SkypeOut, Skype Conference, call waiting, speed-dial, and three-way calls. TeleSky supports both regular and cordless phones.
I think as long as computer is on you can make Skype and PSTN calls through this connection. If you are no planing to keep this computer running 24/7, better make that PSTN line an extension!, in case you your OS or computer crashes.
