Digium Has Relaxed Google AdWord Policy

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

As I reported earlier and completely support the whole idea of protecting Digium’s rights, some people have seen it from a different point of view.
I have seen Mark coming to Linux World with a handful of people and doing all the hard work of popularizing Asterisk. That was when Digium was a small company. I am sure some of these same folks who are profiting from those hard work may have laughed at Asterisk at that time!. Anyway that hard work certainly has proved to be fruitful.
Whatever the case, it seems that a lot of people do not like the adwords restriction as the decision has affected their marketing plans. Since Digium learned that apparently they underestimated the number of organizations that were utilizing Digium trademarked terms in their Google AdWords marketing campaigns and how swift the Google’s AdSense crew were. This together with inadequate planing and time period to effectively make changes, it is also understood that the hardships were larger than the benefits. So the resulting change will reinstate trademark rights for the vast majority of those using the terms. For the confusion and frustration created by this event, and Digium apologized to those who are affected.
You can find the complete inside the Asterisk article here.

VoIP Splogger Notes by Tom Keating

Source: snapvoip.blogspot.com

A few months ago, there was a Splogger, a person who steals other peoples posts word for word, started copying my posts but without any reference. I was sad and angry. The splogger was voipniche dot com. This splogger has been copying other people’s posts as well. It was clearly a site developed for adsense and I left a few comments to him asking not to do it but did not stop. But suddenly Adsense was gone and he stopped taking my posts. I was happy for it.
Today I read at Tom Keating’s blog about another splogger (solokay @ Solomon’s VoIP World), Copying TMCNet’s blog posts, including, well respected Rich Tehrani’s posts. This guy is so good that he managed even to get in to Tom’s blog roll!
I myself have referenced both Tom’s and Rich’s blog article and continue to read their blogs (and TMCNet) as they provide you with a wealth of information. I hope Solomon comes to his senses and stop what he is doing. I learned to reference other from Andy’s VoIPWatch, I like his style.

Rich reacts; ( also read his article, how to beat your wife properly! ;))
