According to 8×8:

Revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2009 were $16.2 million, compared with $15.8 million for the same period of fiscal 2008 and $16.4 million for the previous quarter. 8×8 business services revenue grew to 66% of total revenue in the third quarter of fiscal 2009 compared with 48% of total revenue in the same period of fiscal 2008 and 60% of total revenue in the previous quarter. 8×8 Reaching for Publicity

Source: www.voip-news.com

8×8 was really reaching when they put out a recent press release. The company said that services like 8×8 Virtual Office and Packet8 reduce monthly costs (yes, that’s normal) and (gasp) would mean less holiday stress since it creates a way to manage the billing costs. But 8×8? Well, they said that it reduces holiday stress. Um yea.

“The holiday season puts customer-facing companies to the test, regardless of the economic climate,” says 8×8, Inc. Chairman & CEO Bryan R. Martin. “Outsourcing your business phone service to a hosted provider like 8×8 means that our California-based service professionals will take care of your phone service for you, including all administration, moves, adds and changes, so you can concentrate on running your business.”

Reaching. Totally reaching.

“With the stress of long lines, worsening traffic and their own end-of-year financial concerns, the customers of small businesses have even less tolerance for long hold times or navigation of patchy phone systems. Internet-based telecommunications solutions like 8×8’s Virtual Office are enabling small businesses to appease impatient customers by cutting queue times and improving the customer calling experience without having to augment staff or pay for pricey PBX (private branch exchange) systems traditionally afforded by larger companies,” said Martin.

Temp Price Reduction for 8×8

Source: www.voip-news.com

Well, I guess this could be gettin’ in the holiday spirit.

8×8, Inc. is temporarily reducing its monthly service charges for Virtual Office Business Phone Service by 50 percent for new subscribers. The company is declaring it an effort to relieve cash-strapped small businesses.

According to 8×8:

Normally priced at $49.99 per month/extension, Virtual Office hosted PBX phone service, an all inclusive Internet-based telecommunications solution which combines unlimited local and long distance calling with advanced PBX features, is now available to companies who subscribe by December 31, 2008 for a monthly fee of $24.99/extension or a one-time annual fee of $250/extension for the first year of service. New customers must purchase 8×8’s new Internet protocol (IP) phones and agree to keep service for a minimum of one year in order to be eligible for the promotion.

VoIP technology has quickly come into focus as an effective and immediate cost cutting tool for small and medium-sized businesses. Benefits like predictable monthly phone bills, remote working capabilities, and Fortune 500 enterprise-class calling features are not only helping our small business customers survive in this recession, but are actually helping them to prosper and run their businesses more efficiently. We want more companies to experience the business advantages that VoIP communications services like Virtual Office can deliver,” said 8×8, Inc. Chairman & CEO Bryan R. Martin.
