3Com: We anticipate 200% growth by June 2006

Source: voipcentral.org

3COM Corp, Malaysia, has targeted a 200 per cent growth in sales of VoIP solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in the next six months. 3Com is a premiere provider of secure, converged voice and data networking solutions.

Marcus Lai, Country Manager, 3Com Asia, after signing a distributorship agreement with Jardine OneSolution Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, said;

We anticipate growth from businesses linked with trading, warehousing, insurance, pharmaceuticals and education. This boos in sales would contribute 5-6 per cent of the revenue from Malaysia.

3Com’s Malaysian operations contributed a good RM45.36 million in revenue in the first 9 months of 2005.

Under this distributorship agreement, Jardine OneSolution will market 3Com’s array of voice solutions products in Malaysia that will include
i. 3Com NBX v3000 PoE Bundle and
ii. 3Com NBX v5000 IP Telephony Solution.

This is targeted at small and medium sized companies that have less than 500 users. 3Com’s NBX systems will help companies reduce intra-company long-distance communication costs and improve both efficiency and productivity.

This means that instead of only using a data network to send/receive files and emails, companies can call between sites, transfer callers, send/receive voicemail messages to/from one or many users situated in various places.

Andrew distribution general manger described the partnership as

A step towards building a competitive edge in the market-place.
