Skype Extras or the third party developed plug-ins have witnessed growing demand among the users recording more than 10 million downloads in its initial four months of release.

Skype has launched the Extras Manager for Skype 3.0 version in January this year. The Extras are plug-ins written by independent third-party developers to enable Skypers to add multiple features such as games, personalized video avatars and collaborations with people in the Skype functionality and enhance Skype conversions.

At present, the application that holds first position in the list of regularly downloaded Extras is CrazyTalk for Skype with more than 3.5m downloads.

This application enables users to use live avatars and emotions on Skype video calls. The Pamela Call Recorder Extra is the most downloaded business application. It has more than one million downloads.
