Skype-killer Raketu went a step ahead by announcing a Chinese language version of its much-talked dial-out VoIP service, RakOut.

Raketu initiated Chinese version of its VoIP services following 3Js association with NTDTV, a Chinese language TV network for the promotion of Skype products. It is more or less apparent that Raketu is also keen to hit the potential Chinese customers.

In a statement, Greg Parker, President of Raketu said,

In response to the tremendous interest in Raketu from China, Raketu has released its Chinese language version.

He added,

With our Chinese language release of Raketu, we are continuing to deliver on our promise of localization, enabling our users to use Raketu in their native language.

As of now, the RakOut customers (both household and enterprise) have the distinct advantage of calling free to more than 40 countries. The Chinese-speaking consumers can now enjoy the same service.

Based on Peer-to-Peer(P2P)Technology, Raketus communication services includes dialout calling (rakOut) to landline phones as well as mobile phones, Instant Messaging (supporting Raketu, Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, ICQ, and Google), SMS-text messaging and file transfers and sharing. These services are similar to that of Skype.

Until now, RakOut service was available in English, Czech and Russian versions. The company is now planning to launch Spanish and Japanese language versions in near future.
