Polycom supporting VoIP Features on Microsoft platform

Polycom announced that the company will develop and do marketing for business class UC SIP voice end-points to include which will integrate the instant messaging and new telephony and VoIP capabilities of Microsoft’s new unified communications platform.

Polycom has made following things with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, which are given below:

a) Polycom VSX video systems
b) Polycom SoundStation and SoundPoint IP phones
c) The V2IU network address
d) Firewall traversal

This will allow user to have the presence and contact list on the Polycom VSX video systems and SoundStation and SoundPoint phones makes the media simplify.

Polycom announced this after the certification of U.S. Department of Defense PBX1 for its IP Phones with the Sphere Communications Sphericall IP PBXs.

Polycom’s SoundPoint IP desktop phones makes the software upgraded and support a combination of hard and soft keys with a large graphical display.

Sphericall IP PBX is an open, software-based system that runs on multi-vendor networks and scales to 30,000 ports per system.
