Microsoft’s VoIP Phone?

This may just be a complete rumor - there is no evidence at all that it is true - but it is too good a rumor to ignore. Microsoft’s Zune range of devices that is coming out later in the year will include a WiFi VoIP phone. Since the main device is meant to be an iPod-a-like (if you can’t beat them join them), this new device can be considered an attempt to get an iPhone-a-like out before the iPhone.
The only other evidence for this is Ray Ozzie’s presentation to Financial Analysts where he does tend to harp on phones just a little (five mentions in the short speech, all of them about how smart phones have become). Hat tip to Om Malik for pointing us to the presentation.
