Keep your eye on technology like the Skype Dualphone 3088.

I am still testing it and I like it more and more. This one belong in the living room and passes the grandpa test totally. Getting a Skype and PSTN dialtone is simply a matter of plugging in cables.
My current findings are that it simply works in such a way that after having plugged in the base-station into the internet-router the phone asks you for your Skype ID and off you go. There is nothing more to it.
I was already happy with the earlier USB Dualphone Version , but this one is even better. No more PC needed.
Maybe one thing : next time the should make into a passthrough hub for office workers. Now when you are still on a RJ-45 connection you have to get a small extra hub… while that could have been built into the Dualphone 3088 base station.
