Is Microsoft Becoming the New IBM?

Source: andyabramson.blogs.com

When I first read that Microsoft was saying they want to offer combined service solutions I first thought they were sounding a lot like the IBM of old.

Then I read their announcement with AT&T and I felt even more convinced when it comes to how the enterprise market deals with both companies.

Microsoft is playing this in a very cagey way. Working from the software side, while letting proven partners handle the network. I have to wonder is Cisco next to fall into the Microsoft eco-system in a big way, the same way that Sun has already come into the fold?
