Even though, Skype has been challenged on the security grounds in the Middle East countries, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Jordan has given the green signal to Skype just a month after its blockade.
Confirming the resumption of Skype service in the country, Al Ansari Al Mashaqbah, the director of commissions regulatory department has asserted that the recent decision to block Skype site has been repealed.
Like China and UAE, Jordan had banned Skype services on September 13 because of the encryption method that is being used for VoIP services.
Soon after the go ahead order from the state telecoms, upbeat Omar Qawas, a professional in the IT business and a Skype user said,
Justification that it was blocked for security reasons is unfounded and absolute nonsense.
Skype is the best substitute to using regular phones or mobiles and much more cost-effective, he added.
