The leading VoIP vendor Avaya has selected SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) developer Covergence to join in the Avaya DeveloperConnection program. With the new deal in force, the two companies will club together and put their resources to provide business enterprises a way to create SIP networks supporting VoIP, instant messaging, conferencing and collaboration.
Covergence has been pioneering in developing Eclipse, an SIP-based security and management system. The companies can run and scale access to VoIP and other such SIP services by installing Eclipse SIP Session Manager of Covergence.
Bob O’Neil, President and CEO at Covergence said,
By building on Avaya resources and working more closely with the company to deliver compliance-tested solutions to the market, we are able to reduce network complexity, improve security and reliability, and speed time to deployment so businesses can quickly realize a benefit to their bottom line.
Covergence says that Eclipse system is based on a scalable architecture, which centralizes security and management functions for SIP applications and devices. As per the deal, Covergence would combine its SIP systems with TCS VoIP E911 technology that enables mobile enterprise customers with access to emergency services.
