Digium Announces Two-Port Hardware for Asterisk at LinuxWorld San Francisco
TE205P and TE210P dual-span cards offer a cost reduced alternative for applications requiring only two ports
Digium Inc., the creator of Asterisk and pioneer of open source telephony, today announced the availability of its new dual span T1/E1 PCI hardware, the TE205P card and the TE210P card. Both cards support T1 and E1 environments and are selectable on a per-card or per-port basis.
This 2-span feature enables signaling translation between E1 and T1 equipment and allows inexpensive T1 channel banks to connect with E1 circuits. Since the TE205P and the TE210P improve I/O speed over slave-only architecture and reduce CPU usage.

Digium has designed the TE205P and TE210P to be fully compatible with existing software applications. It is fully integrated with the Asterisk Open Source PBX/IVR platform and is certified for operation with the fully regression tested Business Edition. Also, the open source driver supports an API interface for custom application development. With the combination of Digium hardware and Asterisk software, numerous combinations of telephony configurations are possible. From the traditional PBX to VoIP Gateways, Digium solutions are paving the way for a new generation of worldwide communications.
The TE205P and the TE210P support industry standard telephony and data protocols, including Primary Rate ISDN (both N. American and Standard Euro) protocol families for voice, PPP, Cisco, HDLC, and Frame Relay data modes. Both line-side and trunk-side interfaces are supported and include advanced call features.
The TE205P is for use only with a 5.0-volt PCI slot. The TE210P is for use only with a 3.3-volt PCI slot. Digium is exhibiting at LinuxWorld San Francisco at booth #955.
