Tom Keating over at the VoIP & Gadgets Blog has a burning question that perhaps you can help with … “Check out the screenshot of the Top 20 results listing the rankings of the top VoIP-related keywords (by traffic) according to Overture. #20 is “michigan voip”. Why the heck is “michigan voip” ranked 20th? Even more surprising is that Michigan VoIP ranks higher than “voip traffic” (#21) or “asterisk voip” (#22). I remember noticing “michigan voip” years ago using a keyword utility and thought it was surprising then. But it wasn’t until today that I decided to blog about it and see if anyone else knows why. The curiousity is killing me!”
Rich Tehrani from the VoIP Blog has news on Digium’s latest acquisition … “Digium just acquired Sokol & Associates the company behind the successful Asterisk training program and the Astricon trade show. This further reconfirms the idea of Digium being “everything Asterisk,” a concept espoused in a recent interview with the company’s news CEO Danny Windham.”
VoIP Central shares good news for Raketu VoIP customers - the pricing promotion reduction is going to continue through the end of the month. “Raketu’s discounted VoIP rates promotion was supposed to expire before July. However, the company has extended it still the end of this month. It means the customers can enjoy 66 percent rate reduction for Raketu’s VoIP services. They can also enjoy free unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in 42 countries. What could be the hidden agenda behind this continual? In recent months, Raketu has launched a series of products and services. Off them, RakWeb is most famous. It supports Apple’s iPhone. The iPhone users can enter their phone number at Raketu’s RakWeb site and make VoIP calls. Interestingly, Jajah is also providing iPhone users low cost VoIP services than AT&T. The recent announcement to continue reduction promotion is to popularize the RakWeb service among the customers so that it can give tough challenges to Jajah.”
